Dr. Maria Montessori lived through two world wars. Her entire philosophy is about kindness, empathy, and preparing the environment for children to be successful. Lead teacher training is the science of learning: observing, adapting and changing to encourage success. Montessori education was founded in science and crisis. It can help us all through this crisis as well.
Upon return to in-person classes, there will be screenings and temperature checks on arrival. Each self-contained group will have 10 children or less. As much as possible, class will be conducted outside. All staff and all children over 2 who are able, will wear masks. There will be increased hand washing and cleaning. There will be a new Student Health Agreement for all parents to sign before students return to in-person classes.
ACP Virtual Option: Ms. Cindy will lead our ACP Virtual class, a distance-learning only option for preprimary and kindergarten students (age 3-6). This option is for parents who are available to supervise their children at home and are available to be actively involved in the education process with their child. This group will have a whole group meeting each day, individual lesson plans in advance for each child as well as a list of household materials required to accomplish the work. There will be small group lessons and individual lessons as needed. A newsletter will be sent to parents each week discussing events, and past and future lessons. We'll also work on a video library for parents to review lessons and a set time each day for parents to speak with their child's teacher. There will be age appropriate, scheduled work time for students to work independently, scheduled social time, and scheduled family events. Parent support and education from a lead teacher and an online community will help guide parents to be an active participant in their child's education. This option is offered at $630 per month.
